The City of Cocoa Beach has been warming up their destruction machines on South 4th St. (above) by mowing down the Australian Pines along the river in preparation for their full-on deforestation assault on the Thousand Islands. That pile of mulch in the photo used to be beautiful (invasive to the proponents) pine trees along the river bank. I'll miss them and the sound the wind made sighing through their wispy needles. My sentiments are not shared by all. Whatever.
