An Icon Goes Down
Whenever there's an early ice storm up north, people expect to see lots of broken trees. In Florida, apparently 40 degrees with no wind and no precipitation is enough winter weather to break trees. Arrived at the office this morning to find our iconic live oak with a massive limb on the ground.

TGIF Sunrise
It was a beautiful 44 degrees this morning as the sun peaked over the edge of the world. Wunderground has us predicted to be below 70 until early next week. You'd think it was 44 below the way the school kids were bundled up this morning at the bus stops.

Path to Paradise
Somewhere in south Cocoa Beach is a winding path to a deserted beach. No public parking, no dune crossover, no lifeguards, no tourists, no one on the beach except the occasional neighbor or beach bicycle cruising by. The water is still warm even though it's January and the pompano have been biting. The swell from yesterday is still lingering and a couple of the boys are out there beyond the shorebreak trading waves.

Dubai @ Port Canaveral
This is the new Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral. The $21 million, 22,000-square-foot Center is the design of GWWO Architects, also responsible for the George Washington Visitor Center and Museum at Mount Vernon. Haley Sharpe Design, creators of displays for famous attractions including the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, is developing exciting interactive exhibits unique to the Exploration Tower and the Space Coast.
It's open to the public. Stop by and enjoy the view over the Port from the observation deck.
