We finally have all the details of Humphrey's recent disappearance and subsequent return. The reality is even better than we could have imagined. I've been away for a few weeks but am back in Cocoa Beach now. Posting to resume.

There's a little clean long period swell out there this morning. Low tide midday and it looks to be a fun one. About the same size and conditions as the shot above from a day in 2003. Hit it if you can.

Hot sand, cool water

During the heat of summer on bright days the sand gets so hot that the only place one can walk barefoot without scorching the dogs is on the wet sand at the water's edge.
