Surf is up and the shuttle is back
A couple of the local boys in south Cocoa Beach above waxing up for an early morning session this morning. Surf has been good the last two days with a clean swell from the extra-tropical low pressure system that just tracked up the coast. I was able to see the shuttle Atlantis this morning as it glided overhead on it's approach for landing at the Kennedy Space Center on it's last scheduled mission. It has over a hundred million miles on it's odometer.

Love is in the air
Warm summer days in Florida following a rain and the love bugs can hatch suddenly and in massive numbers. While harmless they create quite a mess for motorists in areas outside of Cocoa Beach. Our 35 MPH speed limit is just slow enough to brush the bugs aside without creating the mess below. Visitors driving to the beach from inland are not spared and a pass through the St. Johns River plain can leave one's grill looking like a Vegemite spread.

Little Harbour
Headed down to Pete's Pub at Little Harbour for lunch yesterday and decided to run outside on the way home in case we saw some fish action. About a half mile outside Tilloo Cut and home we ran into birds working in 47 feet of water and hooked up on two fish.
Landed both fish, a matched pair of decent dolphin and once again had fresh fish for dinner.
